From The Desk of Interim Director of Mission

Greeting in the powerful, precious and productive name God of our Lord and Savior.

The Mission of the Moriah Baptist Association is, "To glorify God by proclaiming Jesus, being disciples and making disciples." This mission statement expresses not only the mission but also the work of the association in assisting the churches of the association to do three things, which are:

  1. Glorify God by proclaiming Jesus--The churches of the association have chosen to cooperate in proclaiming Jesus to a lost and spiritually dying world. The churches of the association proclaim Jesus as Lord, as savior and as "the way, the truth and the life", John 14:6
  2. Glorify God by being a disciple-- A disciple is a person who wholeheartedly follows and obeys Christ. One who is "Christ-follower" that is actively living a life that proclaims Christ as savior and who maturing in their faith walk with Christ. Disciples being glory to God by their lifestyle and service.
  3. Glorify God by making disciples--Christ in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the names of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."(NKJV) There are two components of this commission, which are; "Win the lost and develop the saved." The churches of the association are to be actively engaged in ministry that develop the saved."

The Moriah Baptist Association is an association, organization, of fifty-four cooperating churches that have come together to impact Lancaster County, South Carolina and the world by being Great Commission Churches.
